Lucia (Reis) Pereira

New Bedford - Lucia Fatima (Reis) Pereira, 61, died Tuesday, January 6, 2015, surrounded by her loving family, at St. Luke's Hospital.  She was the wife of Afonso M. Pereira to whom she was happily married for 45 years.
     Born in St. Michael, Azores, the daughter of the late Dinis and Olivia (Vicente) Reis, she lived in New Bedford for 48 years.  She was a homemaker.
    Survivors include her husband, Afonso; a daughter, Stephanie A. Pereira; 3 grandchildren, Lacey M. Pereira, Anthony L. Pereira, and Jayden F. Dalomba; 3 siblings, Leonilde Silva, John Reis and Mario Reis; 3 sisters-in-law, Dinora Pimental, Aida Reis and Carmina Reis; and several nieces and nephews.
     She was the mother of the late Timothy C. Pereira.
     Visitation is 9 A.M. - 10:30 A.M., Monday, January 12, 2015 at Machnowski Funeral Home, 472 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, followed  by a funeral Mass at 11 A.M. in Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church.  Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, New Bedford.
