Luciana Berberena

New Bedford – Luciana Berberena, 63, died Saturday, September 18, 2021 at St. Luke’s Hospital.  She was the former wife of Wilfred Cuba, Sr.

     Born in Juncos Las Piedras, Puerto Rico, and daughter of the late Eulalio and Francisca (Pena) Berberena, she lived in New Bedford for many years.  She was a homemaker.

     Luciana enjoyed gardening, nature and animals.  A faithful reader of the Gospel, she was very prayerful.  She held a very special place in her heart for the homeless and donated to their various charities.  Most of all, she loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren.

     She is survived by 2 sons, Wilfred Cuba, Jr. and Dean Cuba; 1 daughter, Lynette Cuba; 14 brothers and sisters; and several grandchildren.

     Luciana was predeceased by 4 siblings.

     Her visitation will be held Friday, September 24, 2021, at 9:00 to 11:00 A.M., with a service at 11:00 A.M. at Machnowski Funeral Home, 472 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford.  Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
