Lucille D. Barwick

New Bedford - Lucille D. Barwick, 91, died Thursday, April 13, 2023, at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the wife of the late Thomas Barwick.

Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Arthur and Anna (Daignault) Desroches, Lucille was a lifelong resident of the city. She was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church.

Lucille was an avid reader who enjoyed solving crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

Lucille is survived by her 2 daughters, Donna Barwick of Washington and Gail Garcia-Grant of Florida; 2 brothers, Roger Desroches of New Bedford and Donald Desroches of Acushnet; 5 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.

She was predeceased by her brothers, Gerard, Leo, Willie and Howard Desroches; and her sisters, Alice Coupe, Beatrice Hayes, Doris Mills, and Jeanne Guillotte.

Private cremation services are with Machnowski Funeral Home, 472 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford.
