Luis Torres

Luis Torres, 66, died on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at Rhode Island Hospital after a brief illness.

Born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, son of the late Felix and Juana (Colon) Torres, he lived in New Bedford for most of his life.

In his free time, Luis loved going to church, watching Christian movies, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his two sons, Luis Torres Jr. and Lucas Torres; his daughter, Jessica Torres; his two brothers, Jeorge and Wilfredo Torres; his two sisters, Mildre and Bettsy Ivet Torres; and his grandson, Jovan Parker.

Luis was the brother of the late Felix Torres Jr., and William, Roberto, Edwin, and Lourde Torres.

Visiting hours will be Tuesday, July 22, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Machnowski Funeral Home, 472 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, with a service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery, New Bedford.
