Luz A. Cruz Serrano

New Bedford - Luz A. Cruz Serrano, 82, died Saturday, August 1, 2015 at St. Luke's Hospital.  She was the former wife of Roman Couverthier.
     Born in Canovanas, Puerto Rico, daughter of the late Aberaldo Cruz and Ana Serrano, she lived in New Bedford for many years.  She was employed in a shoe factory before her retirement.
     She enjoyed going for walks and taking care of her plants.
     Survivors include 1 son, Roman Couverthier, Jr.; 3 daughters, Carmen Couverthier, Luz J. Couverthier and Brenda L. Couverthier; 3 brothers, Miguel Cruz, Salvador Cruz and Luis A. Cruz; 2 sisters, Miriam Cruz and Rosa Cruz; 11 grandchildren and 20 greatgrandchildren.
     She was the mother of the late Anibal Calderon and sister of the late Ana B. Cruz, and the late Aberaldo Cruz, Jr.
     Her funeral service will be from 3 to 7 P.M., Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at the Iglesia Advertista, 280 Elm St., New Bedford.
