New Bedford - Lydia E. Figueroa, 67, of New Bedford, died Wednesday, December 9, 2015, at home, after a long illness.
Born in Ciales, Puerto Rico, the daughter of the late Julian and Adelina (Nieves) Figueroa, she lived in the New Bedford area most of her life. She was a homemaker.
Lydia enjoyed music, watching T.V., especially soap operas, and family gatherings. She was a very generous woman.
Survivors include 2 sons, Angel M. Cordero and Danny L. Rivera; 3 daughters, Daisy M. Rivera, Yadiris Rivera and Amelia Rivera; 5 brothers, Geronimo, Francisco, Victor, Salvador and Hector; 3 sisters, Nelida, Iris, and Doris; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visiting hours are 6 to 9 P.M., Monday, December 14, 2015 in the Iglesia Nuevo Pacto, Nuevo Renacer, Inc., 1167 Phillips Rd., New Bedford, with a service at 8 P.M.; the Rev. Ramon Mancebo officiating. Burial will be at 11 A.M. Tuesday, December 15, 2015 in Rural Cemetery, New Bedford.
