Margarita Fernandez Obituary

New Bedford - Margarita Fernandez, 73, died Friday, June 9, 2017 at the Savoy Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.  She was the daughter of the late Inocencio Fernandez and Esperanza Rivera.
     She was born in Utuado, Puerto Rico and lived in New Bedford most of her life.  She was a homemaker.
     Margarita was a big fan of singer, Gallito Manati, and her favorite song was "Amor Divino Favor."  Red was her favorite color and she loved dancing.
     A good Christian and wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Margarita was a happy woman who loved helping others.  She especially enjoyed taking care of and playing with her grandson.
     Survivors include 2 sons, Luis Rosario, and Ismael Andujar; 2 daughters, Marilyn Santos and Juanita Rodriguez; 3 brothers, Inocencio Fernandez, Pascual Fernandez and Jose Fernandez; 3 sisters, Aleja Alvarez, Altagracia Fernandez and Gladys Fernandez; and several grandchildren.
     Visiting hours are 6 - 8 P.M., Monday, June 12, 2017, with a service at 7:30 P.M. at Machnowski Funeral Home, 472 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford.  Her funeral is at 10 A.M., Tuesday, from the funeral home, followed by burial in Pine Grove Cemetery.
