Maria Badorek

Maria Badorek, 86, died Friday, April 10, 2026 at Sacred Heart Nursing Home after a brief illness.

Born in Lentownia, Poland, daughter of the late Michal and Karolina (Konior) Krawiec, Maria lived in New Bedford for 46 years.

She came to the USA with hope in her heart, dreaming of a better life and new opportunities. She was a person of many passions and simple joys. She loved painting, knitting, and crocheting. Cooking was one of her greatest pleasures. She will be remembered for her hardworking spirit and her creativity. Her life was a testament to perseverance, love, and appreciation for the simple blessings of life. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Maria is survived by her daughter, Elzbieta Bielica and her husband, Zbigniew; her three grandchildren, Ramona and her husband, Frank, Ewelina and her husband, Keith, and Christopher; and her four great-grandchildren, Kyle, Kaylee, Luke, and Trystan.

Burial will be in Poland.
