Maria L. (Vieira) DaSilva

New Bedford - Maria L. (Vieira) DaSilva, 93, died Saturday, June 25, 2016 at St. Luke's Hospital.  She was the wife of the late Manuel C. DaSilva.
     Born in Terceira, Azores, Portugal, daughter of the late Joao Cardoso daCosta and Rosa Vieira, she lived in New Bedford most of her life.  She was a homemaker.
     Mrs. DaSilva enjoyed embroidery, crocheting, sewing, cooking and especially taking care of her family.
     Survivors include 2 sons, Luciano DaSilva and John DaSilva, both of New Bedford; 5 daughters, Rose Beals of RI, Lucia Godinho, Julie Andrade and Maria Miller, all of New Bedford; and Maria Raposo of FL; 12 grandchildren; 8 greatgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
     She was predeceased by 3 brothers and 1 sister.
     Visiting hours are 6 - 8 P.M., Thursday, June 30, 2016 at Machnowski Funeral Home, 472 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford.  Her funeral Mass is at 10 A.M., Friday in Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church, 136 Earle St., New Bedford.  Burial is private.
