Maria (Botelho) DeSousa

Marion – Maria (Botelho) DeSousa, 90, of New Bedford, died Thursday, December 24, 2020, at the Sippican Health Care Center.  She was the wife of the late Antonio DeSousa.
     Born in St. Michael, Azores, Portugal, she was the daughter of the late Jose and Ermelinda (DeSousa) Botelho and lived in New Bedford for most of her life.  She was a homemaker.
     Maria enjoyed sitting at the window watching the happenings of the day, her grandchildren, crocheting, dogs and watching wrestling matches on T.V.
     She is survived by 1 son, Isac DeSousa and wife, Stella; 2 daughters, Ana Amaral and husband, Paul; and Odete Couto; 5 brothers, 3 sisters, 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
     She was the mother-in-law of the late Daniel Couto.
