Maria Fatima (Dos Santos) Pimentel

New Bedford - Maria Fatima (Dos Santos) Pimentel, 68, passed away Friday, March 6, 2015, at St. Luke's Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.  She was the devoted wife of Gil M. Pimentel; they were married for 54 years.
     Born in Azores, Portugal, daughter of the late Antonio and Maria (Gouveia) Dos Santos, she lived in New Bedford for most of her life.
     Mrs. Pimental enjoyed being with her family and was considered the family daycare provider.  She enjoyed her flowers, cooking and crocheting.
     Survivors include her beloved husband, Gil M. Pimentel; 2 sons, Jose Pimentel and Gil S. Pimentel and his wife, Susan M.; 2 grandsons, Andrew James and Mathew Gil, all of New Bedford; and a brother, Antonio Dos Santos of Portugal.
     Visiting hours to which relatives and friends are invited are 4 - 7 P.M., Tuesday, March 10 at Machnowski Funeral Home, 472 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford.  Her funeral and burial are private.
