Marie A. "Sally" (Bourgeois) LeBlanc

New Bedford – Marie A. “Sally” (Bourgeois) LeBlanc, 96, of New Bedford, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 25, 2019, at St. Luke’s Hospital.  She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Joseph “Al” LeBlanc.   Born in Bouctouche, NB, Canada,  she was the daughter of Joseph and Adeline (Richard) Bourgeois.
     Marie loved going to Foxwoods and was an avid Bingo player, volunteered at St. Mary’s Bingo for many years, and knitted hats for the babies at St. Luke’s.  She was a great cook and was famous for her poutines rapee.   A talented seamstress, she helped many family and friends with their sewing projects.
     She is survived by a son, Rene LeBlanc of New Bedford, a daughter, Linda Taylor and her husband, Christopher of Acushnet, grandchildren, Christopher, Jr., Megan, Noah and the late Adam Taylor:, great-grandchildren, Leighton and Audrey Taylor, and many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by four brothers, Cloris, Edmond, Oliver and Charles Bourgeois and three sisters, Irene Blacquiere, Delia Hachey and Marguerite Bastarache.
     We would like to thank her wonderful caregivers, Fatima, Yvonne and Sophia for taking such good care of our Mom.
     Visiting hours are Friday, March 29, 2019 from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. at Machnowski Funeral Home, 472 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford.  Her funeral Mass is Saturday, March 30, 2019 at 9:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 343 Tarkiln Hill Rd., New Bedford.  Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
