Mary Cierpial Obituary
Fairhaven - Mary F. (Fiejdasz) Cierpial, 101, died Monday, January 12, 2015, at Alden Court Nursing and Rehab Center. She was the wife of the late Leon J. Cierpial.
Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Michal and Franciszka (Szczygel) Fiejdasz, she lived in Acushnet most of her life. She was a tester at Aerovox for 23 years and a quality controller at Acushnet Capacitor Co. for 13 years until her retirement.
She enjoyed sewing, gardening, cooking and especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include a son, Leon J. Cierpial, Jr. and wife, Aline of Bedford, MA; 2 daughters, Dorothy Menard of Acushnet and Frances Bouchard and husband, Roland of New Bedford; 1 brother, Andrzej Fejdasz and 1 sister, Stasia Paleczka, both of New Bedford; 11 grandchildren, 17 greatgrandchildren, 1 great great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Stella Kosior, Stanley, Michael and Edward Fiejdasz.
Visitation is 11 A.M. to 12 P.M., Saturday, January 17, 2015 with a funeral service at 12 P.M. at Machnowski Funeral Home, 472 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford. Her burial is private.
