Mary A. Pacheco, 100, of Fairhaven, died Sunday, August 13, 2023 at Our Lady’s Haven. She was the wife of the late Jose M. Pacheco.
Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Jose and Mary (Perry) Amaral, she lived in the city for most of her life. Mary worked as in inspector in the Golf Division at the Acushnet Company until her retirement. She was also a communicant of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church, and a member of the Ladies of the Rosary Society.
In her free time, Mary enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and cooking. She also prayed the rosary, and especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
Mary is survived by her 2 sons, Edward Pacheco and his wife, Irene of New Bedford, and Daniel Pacheco and his companion, Sally Carter of New Bedford; her daughter, Maryann DaSilva and her husband, Jose of New Bedford; 5 grandchildren, Jeff Pacheco, Brian Pacheco, Jodi Andresen, Amanda DaSilva, and Andrew DaSilva; and 8 great-grandchildren, Gavin Pacheco, Parker Pacheco, Logan Pacheco, Karli Andresen, Connor DaSilva, Collin DaSilva, Norah Pacheco, and Sam Pacheco.
She was the sister of the late Ernest Amaral of California; and the grandmother of the late Randi and Karla Pacheco.
Her visiting hours will be held Thursday, August 17, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Machnowski Funeral Home, 472 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford. Her funeral Mass will be Friday, August 18 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church, 136 Earle Street, New Bedford. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, New Bedford.
