Maureen P. (Lynch) Ortiz

Fall River - Maureen P. (Lynch) Ortiz, 57, died Thursday, March 31, 2016 at Charlton Memorial Hospital.  She was the wife of the late Edgar F. Ortiz.
     Born in Scituate, MA, daughter of the late Francis and Olive (Patterson) Lynch, she lived in New Bedford for several years.  She was a homemaker.
     Maureen loved cooking, going to the beach and spending time with her family.  She was very meticulous about her appearance, especially her nails.
     Survivors include 2 daughers, Joanna Ortiz-Amaral and husband, Paul of New Bedford, and Jessica Knight of New Bedford; 2 brothers, Gilbert Lynch of Virginia and Patrick Lynch of Plymouth; 1 sister, Mary O'Neil and husband, Jim of Florida; and 2 grandchildren, Mateo Amaral and Brittney Buchanan.
     She was the mother of the late Jennifer Ortiz, and sister of the late Bucky Lynch, Kevin Lynch, Peter Lynch and Gary Lynch.
     Visiting hours are 9 - 11 A.M., Tuesday, April 5, 2016 with a service at 11 A.M., at Machnowski Funeral Home, 472 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford.  Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery.  For condolences, please visit www.machnowskifuneral.com.
