Michael R. Miller

New Bedford - Michael R. Miller, 50, died Tuesday, May 17, 2016, after a long illness.  He was the husband of Maria (DaSilva) Miller.
     Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Eugene and Joan (Greenough) Miller, he lived in Acushnet most of his life.
     Michael was a former member of the school committee at Old Colony Regional High School of Rochester.  He also formerly served as a pack master of  cub scout, Pack 51 in Acushnet. He was a New England Patriots fan as well as an all-time fan of Pink Floyd.  Always the life of the party, Michael was known for his jokes and making others laugh.
     Survivors include his wife, Maria; 1 son, Michael R. Miller, Jr. of New Bedford; 2 brothers, Douglas Miller and Paul Miller, both of New Bedford; 1 sister, Robin Johnson of Wareham; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.  
     He was the brother of the late Donald Miller.
     The family will gather for a private service at a later date.
