Peter Orlik, Jr. Obituary
Peter John Orlik, Jr., age 87, of Wareham, MA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 surrounded by his loving family.
Peter was born in New Bedford, MA, the son of the late Peter and Mary (Ataman) Orlik. He graduated from New Bedford High School Class of 1950 and then from Campbell Business School in 1952. He worked for the Department of the Air Force at Otis Air Force Base and in Systems Command at Andrews Air Force Base.
Peter will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his family, taking his grandchildren out on his boat fishing, waterskiing, and tubing. He loved gardening and being the family photographer. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus McMahon Council.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Betty (Leishman) Orlik. They had four children together: Kathleen (Glenn) Evers of Hockessin, DE; Dianne Orlik of Martinsburg, WV; Elizabeth (Thomas) Evers of Rockville, MD; Peter (Bianca) Orlik of Chandler, AZ. He is survived by one brother Walter (Rosemary) Orlik of Delray Beach, FL. He is blessed with 13 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was dearly loved by all and will be greatly missed.
Family and friends are invited to visit the Machnowski Funeral Home, 472 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, MA 02745 from 9:30 am – 10:30 am on Monday, September 9, 2019. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 235 North Front St., New Bedford, MA 02746 on Monday, September 9, 2019. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery in New Bedford, MA.
