Peter H. Sowa

New Bedford – Peter H. Sowa, 98, died Monday, July 29, 2019, at Hathaway Manor.  He was the former husband of the late Stasia (Podlaski) Sowa.
      Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Jan and Anna (Regula) Sowa, he was a life-long resident of this city.  He was employed by the city of New Bedford until his retirement.  He was an avid Red Sox fan.
     Mr. Sowa was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII.
     He was a good father who took care of his children, and did his best to teach and guide them, as well as a loving grandfather and great-grandfather.
     Survivors include his son, Peter J. Sowa of Severna Park, MD; his daughter, Anna Grigoryeva Jensen of Fairhaven; 5 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
     His funeral service and burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery were private.
