Phyllis S. Ptasienski

New Bedford - Phyllis S. Ptasienski, 88, died Sunday, May 21, 2017 at St. Luke's Hospital.  She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Helen (Pis) Ptasienski.
     Born in Fall River, she lived in New Bedford for most of her life.  She was employed as a fish packer for the fishing industry until her retirement.
     Phyllis' favorite pastimes were reading and bowling.
     Survivors include 1 daughter, Karen DeMello of New Bedford; 1 sister, Adeline Hansen of New Bedford; 2 granddaughters, Sherry DeMello and Anastasia McGruder; 1 grandson, Jeremy DeMello; 1 great-granddaughter, Allison DeMello; 1 great-grandson, Zachary DeMello; 2 nieces, Diane Pisz and Janice Pisz; and 3 nephews, Richard Pisz, Frank Pisz and Jack Smith.
     She was the sister of the late Stanley Pisz, Joseph Ptasienski, Walter Ptasienski and Susan Young,  and aunt of the late Paul Pisz and Ann Smith.
     Family and close friends are invited to attend her visiting hours at 4 - 7 P.M., Monday, May 29, 2017, at Machnowski Funeral Home, 472 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford.  Her funeral is Tuesday, at 10 A.M., with a service at 10:30  A.M. in the funeral home, followed by burial in Pine Grove Cemetery.
