Reynaldo (Rey) M. Pena

Providence - Reynaldo (Rey)  M. Pena, 23, of New Bedford, died Sunday, November 11, 2018, at Rhode Island Hospital.  He was the son of Ramon Pena and Carmen Torres.
     Born in New Bedford, he lived here all his life.  He attended Northeast Maritime Institute on hopes of becoming a captain on ships at sea.  He was in the process of earning an associate's degree at the time of his death.
     Rey enjoyed working out at the gym, and the sport of baseball.  He loved boats, the water and anything to do with the sea.
     Survivors include his mother, Carmen; father, Ramon; stepfather, Rafael A. Perez; his grandmother, Ersa Batiz; 2 brothers, Miguel Perez and Raymond Pena; a sister, Chantell Pena; an aunt, Brenda Rosado; an uncle, Fidel Fuentes; 6 cousins, Carla Rosado, Armani Rosado, Carlos Torres, Nayla Torres, Yalexix Torres, and Yasmin Torres; a second cousin, Daniel Rivera; and his girlfriend, Joannie Sanchez.
     Visitation is 4 - 7 P.M., Sunday, November 18, 2018 at Machnowski Funeral Home, 472 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford.  His funeral will be at 10 A.M., Monday with a service at 10:30 A.M. in the funeral home.  Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
