Richard J. Machowski

New Bedford - Richard J. Machowski, 73, died Monday, December 1, 2014, at the Oaks.  He was the husband of the late Evelyn (Fogarello) Oliveira Machowski.
     Born in Acushnet, the son of the late Zygmunt and Stasia (Blaszczak) Machowski, he lived in New Bedford most of his life.  He was employed as a security officer at Dartmouth Building Supply before retirement.
     Survivors include a stepdaughter, Nancy Moreira, a stepson, Ernest Oliveira; a grandson, Michael Moreira; 3 nephews, Andrew, James, and Paul Machowski; and sister-in-law, Rosemary Machowski.
     He was the brother of the late Leonard A. Machowski.
     Visiting hours are 9 to 10:30 A.M., Friday, at Machnowski Funeral Home, 472 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, followed by his funeral Mass at 11 A.M. in Our Lady of Fatima Church.  Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery.
