Robert Krouzek Obituary
New Bedford - Robert H. Krouzek, age 77, of Acushnet, passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2017, after a long illness. He was the husband of Patricia (Kowalczyk) Krouzek.
Born in New Bedford, he was the son of the late William and Dolores (Brissette) Krouzek. He was employed at Morse Twist Drill Cutting Tools for 25 years, and later as a cook at Olive Garden Restaurant until his retirment. Mr. Krouzek enjoyed going for long rides, playing the lottery and was an avid Red Sox fan. He always had a joke to tell and wanted to always "leave them laughing."
Mr. Krouzek was a U.S. Navy veteran and served aboard the U.S.S. Norris.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia; his children, Robert Krouzek, Jr., Virginia Trommer and her husband, Jeff, Dolores Simpson and her husband, Chuck, and Carol Krouzek; 2 stepchildren, Sharon Sampson and her husband, Robert, and Jean Sewall and her husband, Wayne; 7 grandchildren, Haley Simpson, Eric Simpson, Sawyer Simpson, Kyle Krouzek, Jessica Sampson, Amanda Sampson and Abigail Sampson; 2 brothers, William Krouzek and Ronald Krouzek; and 2 sisters, Beatrice Normandin and Diana Demanche.
He was the grandfather of the late Samantha Krouzek and the brother of the late Ruth Cassidy, Rita Lajoie, Gertrude Lavoie and Katherine Rocha.
Visiting hours are 4 - 7 P.M., Monday, January 30, 2017 at Machnowski Funeral Home, 472 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford. His funeral will be from the funeral home at 9 A.M., Tuesday, with a funeral Mass at 10 A.M. in St. Francis Xavier Church, Acushnet. Burial with military honors will follow be in Acushnet Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Acushnet Veterans Memorial Park.
