Roy L. English

New Bedford – Roy L. English, 58, of New Bedford, died Thursday, April 11, 2019 at home.  He was the husband of Shirley Fisher.
     Born in Red River County, Texas, a son of the late Billy and Viola English, he was a resident of New Bedford for several years.
     Roy was an avid fisherman.  He enjoyed watching wrestling and going scrapping.  His pride and joy was his wife.  When he met Shirley, he was blessed with 4 children and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  His favorite song was “Wrecking Ball” by Eric Church.
     Survivors include his wife; a son, Edward Fisher and daughter-in-law, Deborah Hilla; 3 daughters, Delia Wrightington and husband, Richard Perry, Linda Fisher and husband, Jesus Ortiz, Lisa Aponta and husband, Robert Barboza; 1 brother, William Grammer and wife, Connie Grammer; and 1 sister, Shannon English; 16 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
     He was the brother of his identical twin, the late Troy English and “Bear”.
