Sor Maria Rosario Duprey

Sor Maria Rosario Duprey, 76, died on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at home after a brief illness. She was the wife of Bruno Gonzalez.

Born in Guayama, Puerto Rico, daughter of the late Genovevo Rosario Pomales and Juana Duprey, she lived in New Bedford for most of her life.

In her free time, Sor enjoyed dancing, cooking, and playing bingo. She was also very fond of dogs and birds. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Sor is survived by her two daughters, Waleska Torres and Sandra Torres; several brothers and sisters; 11 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her two sons, Jack Torres and Rafael Torres.
