Daughter, Marcia M. DuPont, companion of Marc Heon, Mattapoisett MA

Grandmother of Abigail DuPont of Fairhaven, Justin DuPont of Boston, Jennifer Ringhofer, husband Steven of Ankeny, Iowa and Michael Marnik, wife Bethany of Omaha, Nebraska.
Great Granddaughters Hailey, Kylie, Amelia Ringhofer and Lydia Marnik.  Great Grandson Grady Marnik
Sister of Paul and Andrew Pifko, Irene Koczwara and Pauline Amaral.  All of Fairhaven, MA

Member of Polish National Alliance Lodge 536 of New Bedford for over fifty years
and served as Financial Secretary for 26 years.  Was a lifetime Member of Polish
Women’s Business and Professional Club.  Member of  Catholic Women’s Club.

Mrs. Marnik was Director of Stella Pifko Dance Studio for 31 years and was a past member of Dance Masters of America.  She was Producer of Miss Massachusetts
Scholarship Pageant for eight years.  During her younger years, she performed in
many variety shows and also had her own performing arts group for nursing
homes.

She was active in Town of Fairhaven and at one time served on Arts Lottery
Committee.  She was a Town Meeting Member and also served on the Board of Registrars as one of the members representing Fairhaven Republican Town
Committee, for 13 years.

In 1987, Stella was presented with an award for her outstanding achievements
from the late Aloysius Majewski, President of Polish National Alliance in Chicago.
In 1991 she was awarded “Woman of the Year” by the Polish American United
Organizations of Greater New Bedford for her loyalty, dedication and service to
The Polish American Community.
In 1995 she was honored with “Woman of the Year” in District 1 of the Polish
National Alliance and was Chairwoman of the Pre-Convention Committee for the
42nd National Convention of Polish National Alliance that took place in
Providence, RI.

In 1997 she was awarded Lifetime Membership in the Polish Women’s Business
And Professional Club of Greater New Bedford for being the only member to
serve four terms as organization President and for many fund raisers she chaired,
for Polish Causes.  She also achieved recognition for being a member of this
organization for Sixty-Years.

She served as a judge for many Scholarship and Beauty Pageants throughout
New England and was  Coordinator for the 50th 1948 Class Reunion of
Fairhaven High School.
  
Her volunteer work as an Ombudsman-for elderly in nursing homes was—a
commitment of love and understanding that she enjoyed.
She was a communicant of St. Joseph’s church in Fairhaven and served as a
lector and previously was piano accompanist for the Children’s Choir.
She enjoyed taking photos of friends and family and presenting them with copies
She and her husband enjoyed playing cribbage every weekend for over 50 years.

Visitation is 2 – 6 P.M., Sunday,, December 1, 2019 at Machnowski Funeral Home, 472 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford.  Her funeral Mass is at 10 A.M., Monday in St. Joseph’s Church, Fairhaven.  Burial will follow in Naskatucket Cemetery, Fairhaven.  For condolences, visit www.machnowskifuneral.com
