Stephen J. Golda

Chelsea - Stephen J. Golda, 96, died Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at the Soldiers Home in Chelsea.  He was the husband of the late Mary E. (Dugan) Golda and the late Stephanie (Koziol) Golda.
     Born in Lowell, son of the late Joseph and Henrietta (Gesiak) Golda, he lived in New Bedford most of his life.  He was employed as a machinist at the Newport Naval Base until his retirement.
     Mr. Golda was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II.
     His favorite pastime was fishing for trout.
     Survivors include a daughter, Maryanne Golda of Warren, RI; 2 sons, Daniel S. Golda of New Bedford and Stephen P. Golda of Newport, RI; and 4 grandchildren.
     Visiting hours will be 9 to 11 A.M., Friday, October 10, 2014 with a funeral service at 11 A.M. in the funeral home.  Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
