Walter A. Widenski

New Bedford – Walter A. Widenski, 89, died Saturday, May 2, 2020 peacefully, with his  daughter by his side, at St. Luke’s Hospital.  He was the husband of the late Alice (Lewis) Widenski.
     Born in Acushnet, the son of the late Joseph and Stella (Pankiewicz) Widenski, he was a lifelong resident.  He was employed as a mill operator at Acushnet Company Rubber Division until his retirement.
     Mr. Widenski was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
     He enjoyed woodworking and being outdoors.  He especially loved spending time with his 2 “sweethearts”, granddaughters, Danielle and Amanda.
     Survivors include a daughter, Heidi Bassett and husband, David of Rochester; a son, Daryl Widenski of Acushnet and 2 granddaughters, Danielle and Amanda.
     A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
