Wayland Sturtevant III Obituary
New Bedford – Wayland Lee Sturtevant III, 76, died Monday, January 11, 2021 at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was the husband of Hilda (Billington) Sturtevant.
Born in Acushnet, son of the late Wayland Sturtevant, Jr. and Gladys (Broadland) Sturtevant, he was a resident of Dartmouth. He was employed as a 2nd Class Fireman for Goodyear Tire and Rubber, until his retirement.
Wayland was a U.S. Navy veteran.
Mr. Sturtevant loved boating, watching T.V., especially football, going on many cruises, and his parrot, Maxi.
He is survived by his wife, Hilda; a son, Wayland Lee Sturtevant IV; a daughter, Laura A. Lapointe and husband, Jean; 3 grandchildren, Michael, Amanda and Alexis; 2 great-grandchildren, Leah and Autumn; 2 brothers, David Sturtevant and Bruce Sturtevant and wife, Kathleen.
He was the brother-in-law of the late Melody Sturtevant.
