Zdzislaw "Gordon" Grygielko Obituary
Boston - Zdzislaw "Gordon" Grygielko, 76, died Monday, January 16, 2017 at Brigham and Women's Hospital, surrounded by his loving wife and daughter. He was the husband of Czeslawa "Jessica" (Grasewicz) Grygielko.
Born in Poland, the son of the late Wiktor and Bronislawa (Wisniewska) Grygielko, he was a longtime resident of South Dartmouth. A Master Tailor for 45 years, he had been employed by Louis of Boston, Howland Place and Nordstrom Providence Place. Gordon and his wife, Jessica were the proprietors of "Advanced Tailoring" for 22 years.
Gordon had a talent for neverending home improvement projects, such as his beautiful flower, fruit and vegetable gardens. He dearly loved his 2 dogs, Coco and Bianca who always accompanied him on his projects. As soon as he finished one project, such as building a garage or shed, he was already starting another one. Selflessly devoted to his children, Gordon taught them to live by this belief by Thomas Huxley, "Perhaps the most valuable result of all education is the ability to make yourself do the thing you have to do, when it ought to be done, whether you like it or not."
He is survived by his wife, Czeslawa "Jessica"; a daughter, Dorota and her husband, Jeffrey, and their children, Jason and Allison; a son, Robert and his wife, Angelika, and their daughter, Filomena; 4 sisters, Helena Wnuk, Maria Czerwonka, Irena Kalinowska, and Danuta Chrzanowska; and many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Rev. Ryszard Grygielko and Edward Grygielko.
Visitation is 10:00 to 11:30 A.M., Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Machnowski Funeral Home, 472 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, followed by a funeral Mass at 12 P.M. in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 235 North Front St., New Bedford. His private burial will be held in Westport, CT at a later date.
