New Bedford - Irene C. Anthony, 91, a devout Catholic entered into eternal life on February 27, 2018. She was the wife of the late Luther C. Anthony.
Born in New Bedford, she was the daughter of the late Bronislaw and Catherine (Galuska) Copach. Irene lived in North Dartmouth most of her life. She was employed as a secretary at Acushnet Process until the birth of her children, and then she devoted her life to her family.
Irene's greatest joys were her children and grandchildren; she enjoyed spending time and making lasting memories with them.
Loving mother and grandmother to Carol (Anthony) Siracusa and her husband, Joseph of Albany, New York and their children, Matthew and Nicole; Robert Anthony and his wife, Tricia of Dartmouth and their children, Noah and Kayla. She is also survived by her loyal and caring niece, Claire Oliveira.
She is the sister of the late Leon, Edmund, Florence and Sophia Copach, and Francis S. Golda.
The family would like to give special thanks to Nina Mach.
Family and friends may call on Saturday, March 10, 2018 from 8 A.M. - 10 A.M. at Machnowski Funeral Home, 472 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, followed by a funeral Mass at 10:30 at St. Mary's Church, 783 Dartmouth Street, South Dartmouth, with the burial at South Dartmouth Cemetery.

Carol, Rob, and Family,
We are so sorry to hear of your moms passing. She was such a sweet and caring person. I always enjoyed seeing visiting during her trips to Guilderland. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers during this very diffficult time.
